René is an experienced executive search consultant whose career spans both the consulting world in senior executive recruitment, as well as holding senior executive positions in the corporate world, principally through the media and advertising sectors.

René began his career with Price Waterhouse in audit, and then spent 10 years with the Clemenger advertising group in financial and company secretarial roles. He was then appointed General Manager of a leading film production company before spending the next five years in the media, first with ACP Publishing as General Manager and Advertising Sales Director and then with Melbourne Independent Newspapers as Joint Publisher.

Subsequent media appointments include Chairman of the Allied Community Newspaper Group in Melbourne, and more recently a six year spell with Pacific Publications (Channel 7 magazine publishing arm) as General Manager and Advertising Sales Director. René was also the Publisher of two leading sport based lifestyle magazines.

René’s executive search ‘specialist practice areas’ include Mining, Oil & Gas, Agriculture, Media, Education, Consulting and Professional Services. He focuses primarily on Board and C level appointments through to strategic General Management roles.

René is a regular presenter at AICD functions in Melbourne & Sydney around the topic “Finding Board Positions.”
